Size and shape of VIBRO BRIQUETTES
Vibro Briquette geometries are tailored to each steelmaking reactor, reaching up to 250 mm, depending on the charging system.
Mineral-based binders are selected according to the raw materials and process, ensuring mechanical integrity and thermal stability up to 1050 °C.

SINTERING PLANTS
Pot Sintering is a compact, modular alternative enabling flexible recipes and smaller‑scale recycling.
GERVASI ITALIA SPA development precise control across dosing, high‑intensity mixing, pelletizing, charging, ignition and gas handling.

Methodology
- Green pellet formation in disc: capillary forces; control via tilt, speed and feed/water rate.
- Green pellets are loaded into pots via automated systems. Two loading systems: aerial bucket (dual hoppers for pellets/coke) or tripper car on rails.

- Vertical conical pot with refractory lining and perforated grate; forced airflow.
- Ignition with pre‑ignited coke + air; selectable flow: upward firing or downward firing.
- Upward: suits Mn ores/low‑melting materials; Downward: suits iron ore sinter (FeO control).
Combustion is ignited with coke and forced airflow. - Sensors monitor temperature and gas flow; PLCs adjust parameters in real time.
- An X-ray monitoring system checks prevent preferential combustion fronts, ensuring consistent sintering quality.
- After approximately two hours, the pot discharges sinter, which is cooled, crushed, and stored for use in blast furnaces or EAFs.
- Off‑gas: dry + wet scrubbers; optional recirculation for heat recovery and lower emissions.
